Georgia women's swim and dive team finishes 16th at NCAA Division I Championships

After four long days of competition in Federal Way, Wash., the Georgia women’s swim and dive team finished 16th with 58 points at the 2025 NCAA Division I Championships.
On the final day of competition, Georgia put up three All-American performances and improved upon its previous day placement of 17th.
Senior Abby McCulloh earned the Bulldogs some much-needed points, bolstering their score in the 1,650 yard freestyle.
McCulloh, the 2024 NCAA Division I Champion in the mile, finished fourth in the mile with a time of 15:48.03 and earned her third career First Team All-America citation.
In the 100 yard freestyle, sophomore Helena Jones finished 14th with a time of 47.91 and earned her first second team All-American Honors. In the prelims, Jones had a three way tie for 16th and during the swim off clinched her spot in the finals with a personal best time of 47.64.
Jones, graduate Sloane Reinstein, senior Bri Roberson and freshman Katie Belle Sikes finished 16th in the 400 yard freestyle relay and earned Second Team All-American Honors finishing with a time of 3:13.20.
Virginia defended their Championship title and took home gold for the fifth consecutive year with 544 points. Stanford and Texas took home silver and bronze, respectively.
On the third day of competition on Friday, junior Shea Furse finished 22nd in the 200 yard freestyle prelims with a time of 1:44.67. Sophomore Helena Jones followed close behind and finished in 25th with a personal best of 1:44.85. Senior Duné Coetzee, junior Ieva Maluka and freshman Marie Landreneau finished 27th, 28th and 29th respectively.
Georgia now turns its attention to the men’s 2025 NCAA Division I Championships, which will be held from March 26-29 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
