On the fourth day of the SEC swim and dive championships, Georgia swimmers Luca Urlando and Jake Magahey earned spots on the podium and Tomas Koski set a new school record.

Urlando took home a silver medal in the men’s 100 yard butterfly with an A-cut time of 43.99. This is his ninth SEC medal in his career. Florida’s Josh Liendo won and broke his own SEC record with a time of 43.23.

Magahey earned his third bronze medal of the week with a season-best A-cut time of 3:37.89 in the men’s 400 yard IM. Magahey battled back and forth during the race for the lead, but ultimately gold went to Texas’ Rex Maurer, who set an SEC meet record with a time of 3:35.61.

Magahey is now tied with Georgia swim legend Nic Fink for 15 SEC medals, the second most in program history.

In the men’s 200 yard freestyle, sophomore Tomas Koski set two personal records and a new school record. In the A final, Koski finished fourth, just missing the podium by eight hundredths of a second with an A-cut time of 1:30.70. The sophomore also finished fourth in the prelims with a time of 1:30.85.

The previous school record for the men’s 200y freestyle was set by Matthew Sates at the 2022 NCAA Championships with a time of 1:30.72.

On the women's side, freshman Marie Landreneau finished sixth in her first career championship final with a B-cut time of 1:44.10.

In diving, junior Renato Calderaro ended the day in the 13th place with a score of 337.65.

Both the Georgia men’s and women’s teams remain in fourth place with scores of 463 and 441.5 respectively.

The SEC championships’ fifth day of competition continues Friday with the 200 yard butterfly, 100 yard backstroke, 100 yard breaststroke, women’s platform diving, and the 400 yard medley relay. The finals for these events will begin at 5:30pm at the Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens.
